Island Color Paint Chip Repair
Paint chip repair is one of the most basic yet fundamentally important car paint repair services that we offer at Island Color. Why is it so important? Because paint chips on your vehicle, especially those that go all the way to the bare metal, are the number one cause of premature rust. Once rust starts to spread across your vehicle’s exterior there is no stopping it. Luckily, this is the type of thing that can be fixed for very little money, very little time, and has the added benefit of improving your car’s appearance and resale value. The entire process can be done in less than two hours, and our crack team of mobile detailers can even come to your home to do the repair at no extra cost. Oh, and did we mention that the fee includes filling all of your vehicle’s paint chips for one small fee? Quick, affordable, and saves you a bundle on future rust repairs. Let’s see how it’s done:
Paint chip repair is actually a very simple process. It is something we are able to complete from start to finish in under two hours with the paint fully cured and ready for the road.
First we clean the damaged area and grab your manufacture paint codes from our database. We mix the paint and clear coat to the exact specifications of your vehicle and we apply and blend the paint on and around the effected area. The paint is given time to cure and fully dry, and then you are ready to hit the road.
An important note about paint chip repair is that for all but the smallest repairs you will be able to see that there was damage if you know where to look, it is the nature of a touch up versus a full body panel paint job. The best comparison is to a chip in your windshield. You can have it filled, and it will mostly disappear, but the reason you are having it filled is to stop the damage and keep it from fully cracking. With a paint chip, you are sealing and protecting the bare metal with paint and clear coat to prevent rust and even out the finish of your car’s exterior.
