Island Color Paint Protection

Beautifully bright and clean paint is the one thing that makes a car stand out from a distance. The depth of shine and reflective facets draw people in and really turn heads. People often ask us how to protect their paint to make it look rich and deep for as long as possible. For this purpose, we offer paint protection.

If you search “paint protection” in a search engine, you are bound to find shops that offer protective films that can be applied to your vehicle’s paint to protect it from rock chips. We do not offer this service. To be honest, we spend more time working with dealers to remove yellowing/peeling films to know that they are not a great long term solution. Read more below to see what we offer in paint protection, and how easy it is give your car an invisible coat of armour.

Add a protective layer to your paint to ensure its long life. Protect against bird droppings, UV Rays, acid rain, salt, and bug residue while maintaining a showroom shine.

What's Involved

At Island Color we offer paint protection in the form of a teflon based wax that is buffed into the vehicle’s paint like a regular wax, but offers long term protection from UV rays and industrial fallout. Teflon, the same non-stick coating you find on the frying pans in your kitchen, is unreceptive to grease and grime, impenetrable by UV rays, protects against bird droppings, acid rain, salt and bug reside, and lasts up to five years on the surface of your vehicle before needing reapplication.

We begin by washing and drying the car by hand to remove any dirt and grime in the clear coat and to prep the surface for the teflon coating. Once the car is squeaky clean, we apply a coat of teflon wax to the entire exterior of the vehicle and buff the product in using orbital buffers. After the product dries we buff the car to a showroom shine and return it to another happy customer.

This teflon treatment does not protect from rock chips, but it does protect against fading and UV damage. It is also receptive to waxing and polishing, so you can keep up with your regular exterior maintenance without needing to have it reapplied.
